NSW:NSW driver killed as coal truck rolls

A coal truck driver's been killed when his vehicle rolled down a two-metre embankment
in Newcastle.

The 62-year-old man was driving along John Renshaw Drive, en route to Port Waratah,
shortly before eight this morning when his semi-trailer jack knifed at Beresfield, about
600 metres west of the F3 and Weakelys Driver intersection.

It then rolled over a two-metre embankment, coming to rest upside down.

The cabin of the semi was partially crushed and the driver died at the scene.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
