NSW: Man charged over stabbing during wedding reception

A 54-year-old man has been charged with grievous bodily harm .. following a stabbing
at a wedding in Sydney's southwest on the weekend in which a man, his wife and their two
year old son were wounded.

Police say they were called to a Bankstown restaurant around 11 o'clock on Saturday
night (AEST) where they found a 47-year-old man with wounds to his neck, chest, back and
face.

It's believed the wounds were caused by a broken wine bottle.

Police say the man's wife was also assaulted during the incident .. while the couple's
two-year-old son received a laceration to his nose and other abrasions.

Police last night arrested a 54-year-old man at a residence in inner western Marrickville
.. and he'll appear in Bankstown Local Court today .. charged with wounding with intent
to cause grievous bodily harm.
